THE HOME OF
LUISI I

When Luisi trusted us to renovate her first home, it was clear to her that she was looking for a contemporary, technological and dynamic environment (a true reflection of herself), in just 50 square meters.

We proposed to combine this with surprise effects, using hidden spaces behind the Polycarbonate walls. We could separate the rooms within the same space using sliding plastic panels. This approach would generate the illusion of a larger home by combining all the daytime activity within the same area, giving on to the ficus trees in the square. These usages are successively linked across the living room, study, dining room and kitchen, leaving the bedroom, bathroom and hall behind the translucent elements. In this way, we play with the viewer’s psychology. As one notices more rooms at the back, one believes that more space lies behind these panels, achieving the effect we were looking for: a larger home than what it really is, facing the exterior, drawing our attention to the lush vegetation and the murmur of the water coming out of the Aguadora Fountain.
